CASEY BRONWYN HOWES
CASEY BRONWYN HOWES is a Brooklyn-based performer, choreographer, and teacher. Born into a family of surf-bums, Casey forsook her freckle-filled destiny to study in a damp dark studio void of time and sunshine. After receiving her BFA from SUNY Purchase, Casey joined Pilobolus Dance Theater where she developed repertoire, learned the art of shadow, and expanded her definition of dance. She maintains a platform-agnostic approach to choreography, tailoring movement for everything from immersive stages to global brand campaigns. Casey is one half of Leggy Bones Physical Theater, an acrobatic dance company she started in 2020 with her partner who shall not be named because this is Casey’s bio. Whether she’s surfing, juggling, or rock climbing, Casey is a dedicated storyteller and her passion lies in character creation and exploration.
Casey has performed works by renowned companies and choreographers such as Martha Graham, Alvin Ailey, Celia Rowlson Hall, Vim Vigor, Batsheva, and Jiri Kylian, to name a few. Over the past few years she has embraced a multimedia approach to her work and has appeared in Facebook campaigns, music videos, HBO’s Westword, and A24’s Dicks- The Musical. In 2021 Casey starred in an immersive one-woman show entitled “Endure, a run woman show” which received a NYT critics pick. After catching the immersive theater bug, Casey went on to Develop the role of Mrs. Vaudeville in Emusive’s Life and Trust (from the producers of Sleep No More). Her most recent work includes the latest installment of the Miu Miu women’s tales series, music videos for Sam Smith and Tate McRae, and The Red Bucket Follies with Leggybones.
Beyond the stage, Casey is a dedicated mentor committed to demystifying the creative process. Her workshops focus on the intersection of athleticism and narrative, helping movers navigate their own artistic chaos to find clarity in performance. Whether coaching professional ensembles or leading community masterclasses, Casey’s mission is to make high-level physical storytelling accessible to all.
